Heather Coman, P.E.
Associate
Specialties: Building Envelope, Waterproofing
Heather Coman has extensive experience in multiple aspects of design, construction, and remediation of buildings and finishes. She has investigated structures and facades for construction defect litigation, insurance claims, and surety, as well as overseen structural retrofits.
Ms. Coman’s experience is in the disciplines of construction of timber, steel, and concrete structures with particular emphasis on timber and timber-concrete structures of various sizes. She has observed such structures throughout their construction cycle from deep foundations to roofing, as well as worked on projects with buildings of various ages and conditions. This has given her experience with how such buildings are sustained over their lifespan and where construction defects and maintenance errors most often result in a requirement for structural retrofits and repairs. This experience is particularly detailed relating to identifying structural deficits in regard to seismic load capacity in historical construction of multi-family residential buildings in Southern California.
Ms. Coman’s experience extends to single and multi-family residences as well as mixed use structures up to thirty- six stories.
